Term 3 Maths and Tutor Learning in Prep

The Preps have been on an incredible mathematical journey this term, exploring new concepts and expanding their skills. It's been a joy to watch their enthusiasm grow.

Thanks to the generous contributions from our community to the library fund, the Tutor Learning program has been expanded, providing even more support for our students.

One of the exciting additions is an integrated maths enrichment program specifically designed for our Prep students. We were thrilled to employ Kalliopi Tsavaris, a highly experienced teacher who brings her expertise from her 11 years of teaching at Elsternwick.

Kalliopi works closely with our classroom teachers to ensure her enrichment program aligns perfectly with the day's lessons. During maths class, small groups of students have the opportunity to work with Kalliopi, receiving tailored support or challenging extensions based on their individual needs. In Term 2, 34 students (60%) were a part of the tutoring program.

The benefits of this enrichment program extend beyond the participating students. With smaller group sizes, our Prep teachers can now give more focused attention to each child, creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment for all.

We are incredibly proud of the progress our students are making and the dedication of our teachers. Together, we are building a strong foundation for your child's mathematical success.
