Jump Rope For Heart

Well done to all the students and staff that participated in the ‘Jump Rope For Heart’ program last Friday.  Thanks to all the families that donated a gold coin to the Heart Foundation. A big thank you also to our Year 6 leaders for running the activities on the day – they did a fantastic job.

Greater Western Soccer Championships

Well done to our soccer team who played in the Greater Western Soccer Championships in Ballarat last Thursday.  The team won two games and lost two games, which was a great result. A big thank you to Nat Bannan and Kate Geary for coaching the team on the day, and to the parents and grandparents who supported the day.

Greater Western Football Championships

Good luck to both our boys and our girl’s football teams who will be playing in the Greater Western Football Championships this Thursday, 22nd June at Ballarat High School. 

Players are reminded that they need to wear dark shorts, football socks, football boots, bring along a drink bottle, snacks, fruit, lunch, a towel and extra clothing to keep warm. The weather does not look good, so please ‘rug up’.

The bus will leave Sacred Heart at 7:30am (please do not be late) and return at approximately 4:15pm.

Sacred Heart Swimming Program

A very big thank you to the parents, guardians and grandparents who assisted with our Year 1 – 4 Swimming Program at Heather’s Swim School this term. Thanks also, to Heather Munro and her staff for all their hard work with delivering the swimming program.

Name: Lucas Rodger (Yr 5RO)

1. Which sport is your favourite to play and why? My favourite sport is cricket because I am good at it.

2. What is your best sporting moment? My best sporting moment was when I made 16 runs in cricket and my team won.

3. Which strengths do you believe you have that make you a good athlete? My best strength in sport is hitting the ball with a cricket bat.

4. Why do you love playing sports? I love playing sport because it is fun to run around.

5. Who is your favourite sports person? Aaron Finch. Why are they your favourite? He is my favourite sports person because he is a fantastic cricket player and he grew up in Colac.

6. What is your favourite sporting team? My favourite sporting team is the Melbourne Renegades.

 

Name: Charlotte Daffy (Yr 4DC)

1. Which sport is your favourite to play and why? Netball is my favourite sport because it is fun and I like to shoot goals.

2. What is your best sporting moment? My best sporting moment was when I got best player on the court for my team.

3. Which strengths do you believe you have that make you a good athlete? My strengths in sport are that I am fast and I am a good thrower.

4. Why do you love playing sports? I love playing sport because you get to learn new sports and you get to play with your mates.

5. Who is your favourite sports person? Max Gawn Why are they your favourite?  He is my favourite player, because he is tall and he is a very good ruckman.

6. What is your favourite sporting team? Melbourne football team

 

Name: Dusty McCrimmon (Yr 4SF)

1. Which sport is your favourite to play and why? Football is my favourite sport to play because I can tackle and get to take speckies.

2. What is your best sporting moment? My best sporting moment was when Hawthorn beat the Geelong Cats at the MCG.

3. Which strengths do you believe you have that make you a good athlete? My best strength is my honesty, and I am also fast in sport.

4. Why do you love playing sports? I love playing sport because it is fun and you get to burn lots of calories.

5. Who is your favourite sports person? Mitchell Lewis. Why are they your favourite?  He is my favourite player because he is fast and strong and he plays for the Hawks.

6. What is your favourite sporting team? Hawthorn
