LEADERSHIP TEAM

Mr. Justin Matt, Mr. Brad Vallance, Mr. Josh Willersdorf

Dear Parent/Guardian's,

I hope this email finds you and your family in good health and high spirits. As we commence the new term, I wanted to provide you with some important updates and address a recent tragic event that has deeply affected our school community.

Firstly, I wanted to acknowledge the passing of Jessika Halfpenny one of our Year 7 students, and the impact it has had on all of us. Our thoughts and condolences go out to their family during this difficult time. Our school counsellors and support staff have been working diligently to provide assistance and guidance to those affected by this tragedy. If your child requires any additional support, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Together, we will navigate through this challenging period and ensure that our students feel supported and safe.

On a more positive note, the start of this term has been marked by the vibrant celebration of NAIDOC week. Our students actively participated in various activities that honoured the rich cultural heritage of our Indigenous community. It was heart-warming to see their enthusiasm and respect for the traditions and values that NAIDOC week represents.

Another notable event was the Deb Ball, where our students showcased their elegance and poise. It was truly a memorable evening, and I would like to extend my gratitude to the staff and parents who worked tirelessly to make it a success. Such events not only provide opportunities for personal growth and development but also strengthen the bonds within our school community.

Looking ahead, I wanted to emphasize the significance of our upcoming Year 10 to 11 course counselling and information evening on Tuesday 18th July starting at 6pm. This event will play a crucial role in guiding our students in making informed decisions about their academic future. It is essential that both parents and students attend, as it will provide valuable insights and support to ensure a smooth transition into the next phase of their education.

Lastly, I am thrilled to announce the launch of our Sports Academy, which has recently received endorsement from the School Council. This initiative will provide our students with enhanced opportunities to excel in their chosen sports. We believe that fostering a well-rounded education, which includes a strong focus on physical activity and teamwork, is essential for their holistic development. We are excited about the prospects this program holds for our students and the positive impact it will have on their overall growth. For more information please register on the Red Cliffs Secondary College website for the information evening on Wednesday 19th July at 5.30pm.

In closing, I want to assure you that we are committed to providing the best possible support and educational experiences for your child. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me or any member of our dedicated staff if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you for your continued partnership in your child's education. Together, we will create a nurturing and supportive environment that enables them to thrive.

Warm regards,

Justin Matt
