Senior School (Y11-12)

The Year 11’s headed off to camp at Phillip Island. With much anticipation and excitement, we jumped on the buses ready to go! With COVID the past few years, we had not been on camp since Year 7 so we couldn't wait to get away! Hopefully Mr Russell and Ms Matthews could cope without us!

We arrived at Phillip Island – A Maze’N Things, (this is where we also had to hand in our phones - no snaps for two days!!) ready to have a great day. We played mini golf, saw magical illusions and also got lost in the maze. It was a great experience and fun day with everyone.

We then had 2 activities - team rescue and canoeing. Some of us got pushed in the water (not naming anyone) and those activities were really fun. The teachers did the team rescue as well to help us learn about working as a team. After dinner on the first night, we had a guestspeaker, an Australian comedian, Declan Fay. He was really funny and the cohort resonated with his stories. 

Dinner on the 1st night was spag bol and choc mousse and on the second, chicken schnitties and gravy with ice cream for dessert.

Some other awesome activities were raft-making, flying fox, archery, the giant swing, disc golf and high ropes. Some cruised across this high ropes course and others needed saving by the camp leaders. 

After dinner we got ready to go watch the penguins, which was amazing!

We got back to camp and went straight to bed.

Day 3 - the final morning at 6.45am, we got woken up by a speaker blasting WHAM’s (George Michael’s Wake Me Up Before You Go Go), all thanks to Mr Macca.

After that, we said our final goodbyes to the camp staff. They were awesome, shout out to myboys from the high ropes for saving me.

We got back on the bus, and thank god we got our phones back, so we could all check our socials…but then we had lunch at San Remo.

Shout out to all the teachers who came on camp and spent time with us away from their families, we all really appreciate it; Mr McIntyre, Ms Low, Mr Minster, Mr Smart, Ms Hargreaves, Mrs Beams, Ms Allen, Ms Sylivris, Ms Wallace, Ms Tsimilas, Ms Chan, Ms Lines and Ms Shaw and Theo.
