Senior Sport

It was a busy start to the year for our Senior Students, with no time to settle into 2023 before competing in the first Beachside Division event on Thursday 9 February. Thank you to our Year 11 and 12 students who participated in Cricket, Softball, Baseball, Volleyball and Lawn Bowls. There were no Division Champions but there were some very close runners-up in Boys Cricket and Girls Volleyball.

Intermediate Sport

On Thursday 16 February, myself and my teammates went down to Kingston Reserve to represent Cheltenham Secondary in the Intermediate Round Robin for Softball. It was an amazing day filled with lots of challenges and laughs. It was great going up against Mac.Rob, and working as a team. After our game, we went down to Le Page to support our Girls & Boys cricket teams. It was an enjoyable day being out in the sun and getting out of the classroom to cheer on our friends.  -  Atika S

A big congratulations to our Intermediate Girls Cricket team, Beachside Division Winners, who will go on to represent Chelt.Sec at the Southern Metro Finals, later in the year.

Well done to Team Captain Tilly and Vice Captain Hayley, Molly, Amy, Grace, Emily, Sarah, Darcy and Shuly. Thank you Mrs Dempster for your coaching. 

A HUGE Chelt.Sec thank you to Jenny and the team at Frontline Stores. The equipment support for Girls Cricket at Cheltenham is very appreciated. The team have a brand new cricket bag with cricket bats as well as batting pads and gloves. 

Beachside Swimming

Thank you to our enthusiastic swimmers who came along to Beachside Tryouts. The successful students Freddie, Abbey, Taya, Samuel and Ethan competed at The Beachside Carnival on 7 March at Oakleigh Pool. 

Congratulations to Freddie, who cleaned up in the pool! Freddie came first in four of his five events. This included setting a new Beachside record in the 50m Butterfly. Because of his success, he will compete at the Southern Metro Region Finals on Mondy 27 March
