From the Principal
Dear Parents and Guardians
At Cheltenham Secondary College, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable environment where all students, staff, and parents feel valued and respected.
We believe that every individual should have equal opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive, regardless of gender, race, religion, or any other identity. We encourage everyone in our community to reflect on how we can continue to promote inclusion and equality within our school.
Our College vision is to be inclusive, dynamic, and high-achieving. We aim to equip our students for life, to make positive contributions, and to provide a healthy, supportive, and inclusive environment where they can strive to achieve their personal best.
This year we will be focusing on the foundations of our College: collaboration and feedback. Collaboration between staff, between students, and between staff and students is essential to building a strong and cohesive community. And feedback allows us to improve, correct and align.
Our priorities include year-level teaching teams working collaboratively to embed each stage of the Instructional Model (see image below), creating positive learning environments, setting high expectations for learning, providing learning intentions and success criteria for every lesson, using high-impact teaching strategies, monitoring, collaboration, reflection, and gaining feedback from students.
I am proud to say that every year we focus on improvement, and continue to create a wonderful learning environment that fosters academic and personal growth. Our community is one where our students are challenged to achieve their personal best, where staff are dedicated to student success, and where parents are valued partners in their education. We are committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for everyone in our College community.
Together, we can make a difference.
