Parents & Friends News

My name is Sera De Pace, I have my daughter Allegra in Grade 6 & son Leo in Grade 2.

I am the Chairperson of the P & F Committee here at St Joseph the Worker, I have been involved in the committee for the last 7 years with this year being the 6th leading. I am also an ex-student of the school, I have many great memories of my time here, which is the main reason why I have chosen to be involved so I can help create lasting memories for our kids also.

At St Joseph the Worker Primary School we are a dedicated team of parents who help organise and run events throughout the year for everyone in the school community to enjoy.

Our purpose is to enhance the quality of the children’s’ education and school life, whilst raising funds for our school. Everything we do is with the children in mind.

All parents/guardians of our school are invited to be involved. We also welcome and encourage extended family members and people from the local community to get involved in our activities. We hold regular meetings throughout the year and everyone is welcome to attend, as we are always looking for new ideasPlease also join our P& F Facebook Page – St Joseph the Worker Fundraising page (we keep you posted on all school news).

The Parents and Friends Committee have raised funds for:

  • New air conditioners in the Prep rooms
  • New signage around the school
  • New tables and chairs for Prep and Grade One.
  • New Shade Cloths over play area
  • Planting of trees around our new oval

We have planned and held great events such as:

  • Mothers Day/Fathers Day Stalls
  • Movie Nights
  • Fathers Day Afternoon
  • Winery Tour
  • Twilight Market
  • Trivia Night
  • School Disco
  • Colour Fun Run

We endeavour to create opportunities for family networking and fostering friendships, promote the importance of school community and to be a part of these special celebrations.

“LET US WORK TOGETHER”

There are many good reasons for parents to volunteer at our school.  Volunteering not only benefits your kids, but will enrich the classroom, the whole school, and the entire community by providing students with positive interaction, support, and encouragement.

How you can help?

  • Support teachers, by volunteering in the class room
  • Assist with service on hot food events
  • Help organise and prepare events e.g. trivia night, disco, Mothers/Fathers Day Stall
  • Assist at Bunning’s/Election BBQs
  • Donate small items for events or prizes
  • Help out in the library with stocktake
  • Feed and take care of the chickens
  • Attend excursions or sporting events

We understand that your time is valuable so your contribution is worthwhile, no matter how big or small.
