Principal's Report

Carly Avery

Dear Parents and Friends,

A great start to our swimming program this week, with 3-6 students attending lessons at the Beechworth Pool. Our junior students will have lessons later in the year.

Next Tuesday morning we will have our Shrove Tuesday Pancake Breakfast. All parents and friends are invited to take part, with raised $$ going to Caritas. Pancakes will be served from 8:00 am onwards.

Please contact the office if you are able to help out during the morning. We are looking for volunteers from 7:15 am onwards.

School Advisory Council Open Meeting: Monday 27th February 6:00 pm

We invite any interested parents to join us at our open School Advisory Council Meeting for 2023. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the purpose and function of the School Advisory Council.

Date/ Time: Monday 27th February, 6:00 pm

Location: School

Golden Horseshoe Festival

It is that time of the year again to gather interest in being a part of this event over Easter. Last year we had a float in the parade and our first food stall on Easter Saturday, both of which were a great success.

At this stage, we are looking for volunteers to coordinate these events. If you are interested could you please contact the office over the next week.

Essentially we need to have 1-2 people to ordinate the organisation of the float and food stall, as well as a parent to coordinate the preparation of food and/ or beverages for the food stall. We will also organise volunteers to assist on the day.

Landscaping Updates

It is with great excitement that works on resurfacing the basketball court and sheltered areas have begun this week. Thank you to Michael Kearton for the work he has done in organising this.

We are also close to finalising a design for new playground equipment. Once this has been finalised I will be able to share a timeframe for installation.

Staffing Update

Diana Rinaldi will continue her maternity leave until term 1, 2024, for family reasons. We wish Diana and her family all the best. Franco Cudini will continue to support staff with the delivery of Italian through our Teachers As Co-Learners Program.

Josh Carr is recovering from surgery at the weekend. We keep him in our thoughts and prayers as he recuperates at home.

As mentioned at the end of 2022, Jane Satori will continue her leave, and Abby Batey will be filling in for Performing Arts for semester one of 2023.

Student Birthdays

This year we would like to invite students to wear casual clothes to acknowledge their birthday. Any students who have had, or will have a holiday or weekend birthday are invited to choose an appropriate day to wear casual clothes to celebrate birthdays.
