Stage 1 News 

Hello MGPS community! Things are in full swing in the Stage 1 Lollipops as we settle into our new routines and open classes. Stage 1 students have done an excellent job in adapting to new changes as they take charge of their learning. 

The “Lollipops” was voted in as our stage name. Lollipops are spending time all together at the start of lessons before breaking off into smaller specialised groups to allow for extra support and extension. 

Water, Water Everywhere

Science this term is all about investigating and exploring water! Students have investigated water sources around the school including the dam in the nature area, taps, hoses, tanks, bubblers, toilets and clouds! This week we are making predictions and experimenting about rain falling on different surfaces. See photos from our incursion below!

 Peering into the Past and Present

This term, Stage 1 are studying History. We have been learning about what families looked like in the past compared to now, as well as how men’s, women’s and children’s roles have changed over time. Stage 1 have enjoyed learning about the similarities and differences between their lives today and the lives of people in the ‘olden days.’ Last week, an email was sent to Stage 1 families requesting any old family photos or stories to share. If you have anything to contribute, it would be much appreciated. Please email any photos or stories to the school.

Amazing Artists

Last week was Valentine’s Day! And what better way to spread the love then by creating a class set of ‘Love Monsters’ and unleashing them upon an unsuspecting world. Check out our cute, colourful, and downright crazy creatures!
