CGSAV BREAKFAST

On the 14 February, Marian College had the pleasure of hosting the Catholic Girls Sports Association of Victoria (CGSAV) Sports Leaders Breakfast. Traditionally, the CGSAV breakfast is hosted at an external venue but,in 2023 Marian College volunteered to host the event. The event is the first official gathering of all schools who are associated with CGSAV and as such it is always a special morning where staff and students from different schools can form new connections or catch-up. 

This year’s event was attended by over 100 people that included both staff and student leaders. This year, 14 schools were in attendance including St. Aloysius, Mount St Josephs, Kilbreda, Ava Maria, Sacred Heart Oakleigh and many others. 

Additionally, a guest speaker is always in invited to the event. This year’s special guest was none other than Olympian Steve Moneghetti. His captivating speech about leadership and perseverance motivated everyone in the room. It was a great honour to listen to an Olympian who had so much to share about his difficulties, sacrifices and commitment to the sport. We thank Steve for this time and his inspiring speech.

Overall, the event was a great a success and was thoroughly enjoyed by all guests and our own Marian staff and students. This could not have been possible without the help from everyone involved, including staff members and Marian student leaders. Undoubtedly an event that many of our students will remember from their time at Marian College.
