College Swimming Carnival

Mary MacKillop Catholic Regional College’s Sports Program commences with a Whole School Swimming Carnival!

This is an important element to the building of community and House Identity in the College and as such represents a fantastic opportunity for all students. This is an inclusive event that caters to all abilities and House points will be earned for every event!

Students will need to sign up for events on the day. 

The day is the first of the major house-based sporting carnivals, and it is, also used as a trial event for selecting the SSV representative team for the College to swim at the regional SSV swimming carnival.

Details of the day are as follows:

Date:                Thursday 23 February 2023 

Time:                Departing the College 9:05am and returning by 3:00pm

Transport:      Westernport Buslines

Destination:   Mirboo North Outdoor Pool, Jordon Way, Mirboo North

Topic:               College Swimming Carnival

Dress:              Complete College sports uniform including a hat, students may wear House                            Colours to support their team!

Other:              Bring lunch, snacks, water in a refillable bottle, sunscreen, insect repellent,                               towel, goggles, and appropriate bathers for competing. 

Attendance:   All students must attend homeroom in the morning       

The Mirboo North outdoor pool is a great outdoor facility, so students should come prepared for all weather; sunscreen, hat, appropriate bathers, a towel, goggles, and a plastic bag to put wet gear in is a good idea. Students can bring money to purchase a BBQ sausage which will be raising money for Caritas. 

Parents/Guardians are invited to attend on the day. There will be a designated spectator area and all spectators must sign in and wear a visitor’s sticker.

Student's permission will be on PAM under Student Activities, you must also update the Student Medical Profile where you must state your child’s swimming ability and permission. Please complete and update by Friday 16 February 2023.
