Shrove Tuesday

Thank you to the OLHC P&F Association and parent helpers for making it possible for the students to enjoy our Shrove Tuesday tradition of enjoying a pancake feast before the beginning of Lent.

Ash Wednesday

On Wednesday 22nd February the school and parish community came together to mark the beginning of Lent with an Ash Wednesday service.  Our Lady Help of Christians were also joined by student leaders and principals from our joint parishes, Holy Trinity and St. Francis Xavier.  Student leaders were tasked with applying the cross of ashes on the foreheads of members of the congregation and our Prep students later in the week.  They also read the prayers of the faithful and introduced the start of Project Compassion.

Project Compassion

A reminder that the beginning of Lent also marks the start of the annual Caritas Australia Project Compassion Appeal.  Donations to Project Compassion allow Caritas Australia to work with local communities around the world to end poverty, promote justice and uphold dignity.  Donations can be made to Project Compassion boxes which are located in classrooms and in the main office.
