HOORAY!! HOORAY!!

Its Circus Time at BNPS

For the past two weeks the Little Devils Circus Crew have been here at BNPS teaching our students across the school some wonderful circus tricks with poi, devil sticks, diablo, spinning plates and hoops.

The students have really enjoyed the program, and all learnt some take home skills. Make sure you don’t let your kids grab some dinner plates and start juggling them😊

Hip Hip Hooray – Claudia M in year 6 can now master the spinning plates and she is super happy😊and Annabelle C in year 6 just wants to play on the pedal cars!

Lots of laughter, fun and excitement was had by all, and the students always enjoy their time at the circus.😊

Regional Cross Country

Congratulations to our 4 runners who ran at Hastings on Wednesday 14 June. It was a windy and cold day which in my day were perfect Cross Country conditions. ☹

At this level of competition there are many kids who train specifically for Cross Country or are part of running clubs outside of school. Our students made it to this level with no background in running, just general fitness from community footy, netball and basketball. So, this a great achievement to make it this far.

Great running from Isabella D – Year 6 who finished 14th overall out of a field of 65 just missing out on the next level.

Three of our runners finished amongst the top 12 runners to progress to the next level

  • Sophie T – Year 4 (finished 7th)
  • Charlie C– Year 6 (finished 11th)
  • Xavier W - in our Multiclass division finished 1st

A fantastic effort by all 3 students who now compete at the State Cross Country Championships at Yarra Glen on Thursday 13 July.

We wish those students the very best at the State champs and in our eyes, you are all CHAMPIONS.

Term 2 Winter Interschool Sport

This term was our Winter Sport Interschool competition, and we played all 7 schools in our District. The sports were- Netball, AFL, Softball, Handball, Soccer, Hockey and Rec.

If you win all your games or the most games of any other school you play against then you win the District and are crowned District Champions. This year we have had very successful sporting teams and of those 5 sports mentioned , 4 of those sports teams were our Champions.

Congratulations to the following teams who are now our District Champs!!

Handball (girls and mixed teams), Softball (girls), Netball (girls) and AFL (boys).

Handball- mixed and girls. Unfortunately Handball doesn’t progress any further but none the less they are still WINNERS.

The Softball, Netball and AFL teams will continue to play in the next Divisional rounds in the first few weeks of Term3 and we wish all those teams the best of luck in their attempt to make the State Championships.

Thanks to our successful coaches- Mrs Gill, Mr Marashli, Mr Farmer and Mrs Hall for getting the teams across the line. Not to mention the skills of the students involved.

Overall a job well done!!
