From the Assistant Principal

Dear MPS Families

Welcome back to term 3. I trust you all had a wonderful holiday. I would like to commend the students on the way they have seamlessly transitioned back to their school routines.

Mrs Plumb is currently enjoying long service leave and is travelling around Europe. She will be back on Monday 24th July. We can’t wait to hear all her stories.

This week is Parent Teacher Interviews. It has been a great opportunity for teachers to catch up with parents and discuss each student’s individual growth and future learning goals. The Compass Continuum will remain open until the end of the week and will reopen in week 10, Term 3 with the Term 3 updates.

This term will warmly welcome Mr Jeff Klyne who will be supporting the prep students each morning with MSL (Multisensory Structured Language.) He will also be teaching library sessions in the afternoon. Miss Amy Wakelen will also be joining our staff, next week, as a teacher assistant.

To celebrate Naidoc week, we have indigenous performer Dion Drummond (or ‘Moogera’ his aboriginal name) coming today. He is one of Australia’s most experienced Indigenous performers, covering both Mainland and Island culture as a dancer, singer and storyteller. We are all really looking forward to meeting Moogera.

Best of luck to the Murrumbeena PS Mixed A and Girls A netball teams who are competing in the Beachside Division competition today.

 Go Beena!!

Fiona Sewell
