Student Attendance Data Letters

Recently families received attendance letters outlining days absent per student.

The new School Strategic Plan 2023 - 2026, explicitly has a goal relating to Attendance of ALL students.  The CSPS target is by 2026, the number of average days absent F to 6 students will decrease from 20 to at or below 17.

The aim of the letter is not to alarm families but to bring to attention accumulative days that you may otherwise not be aware of.

CSPS aims to empower ALL students to actively engage with their learning and wellbeing.  To do so, students need to be attending school regularly.

We encourage parents to contact the office to make a time to meet with Leadership regarding a high absence record, to discuss family supports to decrease absence days in future terms.  

Attendance letters will be a regular practice ie minimum of twice a year.  We look forward to increasing the number of 'green' letters, where student absences have decreased and/or remained under 17.
