CAMP PROGRAM

Camp Recount

On Wednesday we went to Anglesea YMCA recreation camp.

The food was ok and my favourite activity was mountain biking.

I slept in a cabin with some boys and we stayed there until Friday. On Friday we had a beach carnival šŸ–ļø and my team won šŸ†! I had some funšŸ™ƒ.

It’s the time of year all students love. It’s bonding time, active and overall just an amazing experience. We (the 5/6s of Holy Family Primary School) went to YMCA Anglesea. We all loved camp because of the friendly staff, the awesome activities and the great environment we were in. The activities were Giant Swing, Vertical Challenge, Canoeing, Initiatives, Radio Rogaine and Mountain Biking. Some of the activities were old favorites and some were new ones. We were all split into 6 groups and sent to different activities. There were different animals and nature all around us. The activities let us go out of your comfort zone or stay with it. The staff were friendly and helpful when we had questions. During free time, we played Gaga Ball (Israeli Dodgeball) and we could play outdoors on the basketball court. On the first night, we had a talent show. Everyone who presented did an incredible job. The judge, Miss Rawlins, announced the best solo act, duo act and group act. Xavier L won solo with solving 2 cubes in under 3 minutes, Poppy N and Nicola M with their dance and Elise H, Zoe G, Zoe Mo, Gemma B, Ellie T, Inez C, Alissa C and Irene K with Peppa Pig: The Musical. Congratulations to all the winners, great job to everyone else who gave it their best shot! On the 2nd night, we watched the Lorax. On Friday we had a beach carnival with races and different activities. The food was great and the cabins were spacious. I bet everyone wants to go back to Anglesea!

Year 5/6 Camp

The year 5/6s had many fun activities to do at camp, for example canoeing, mountain biking and the Big Swing. The big swing was amazing because you were able to choose what level you would like to be on and some groups were able to go again if they had enough time or didn’t go to the highest point. The mountain bike trail was really fun and if you left enough space between the person in front of you, you could go the speed that you would like. The food was amazing, the chicken was even better than KFC and the wraps and fruit were so fresh! There was a game called Gaga ball that nearly everyone played and we really wanted it at our school! The camp rooms were nice and warm and had a great view of the camp!

Camp at YMCA, Anglesea was amazing, with fun activities, talent shows and more time to have fun with friends. I had an awesome time. It helped our independence by having to go to places at certain times and being ready in the morning. There were several activities that were challenging but fun including the giant swing, the vertical challenge and canoeing. We had sausages and sweet chili chicken for dinner and chicken wraps for lunch. My favorite activity was the giant swing which was 18 meters high! We tried out mountain biking and canoeing was new too. We had something known as camp idol which was a talent show where people sung, danced and did acts of comedy. The next night we watched the Lorax in our pyjamas which was loads of fun. We had free time to talk with our friends in or out of our cabins. We could play basketball or gaga ball (Israelean dodgeball) as well. On the last day we went to a beach carnival with relays and activities.Ā  Camp was a really fun thing that I’m sure pretty much everyone enjoyed.

It's the day of CampĀ YMCA. It was one of the highlights of the year so far. It was an amazing experience and if we could we would have stayed there longer. We really enjoyed all of the activities but cannoing was by far the best thing we did. It was a good experience while learning something new. The giant swing was also really good and we got to push our limits and go above our comfort zone. The movie was awesome, it was really entertaining. We got to lie back and relax. The food scrumptious it was so good!
