Foundation Steiner–Celebrating Learning

We have had a great start to the term. The strangely warm and sunny weather has meant we have found plenty of time to be outside learning and playing. We have begun writing the letters of the alphabet and doing story retells through drawing and writing. 

We have heard a number of stories already. This week we heard the story of The Fisherman and the Flounder Fish. This was also a great opportunity to discuss greed and not being satisfied with enough. 

In maths we have been exploring the teen numbers and making them in lots of different ways. Using multiple exposure and different hands-on materials the kids have been making the numbers 11, 12 and 13. We have then had some very rich discussions regarding these numbers.
