Craft
Most classes are starting new topics this term. The Prep children have just finished their weaving on paper looms and are starting work on their pom poms.
Pom poms help children build on direction winding to support their gross motor skills. Class one students are creating simple bird toys using socks and a simple pattern.
Classes One, two and three are working on sunray cushions, revisiting the simple running stitch in a circular pattern.
Class 3/4 are creating their own toy design based on a circular shape, using felt fabric and various stitching techniques. The 5/6 students are exploring the couching stitching style to create a design of their choice that they will use to embellish a bag or cushion.
To support student learning, parents are invited to assist in the art room. You will need a current working with children check. Please sign in at the office before you come to the art room.
Craft Group
The TPS community craft group is up and running again. This has always been a great way for our parents, grandparents and carers to meet other community members in a creative space, to create craft things to sell at our next BBQ or Art festival. If you are interested in picking up a new skill or would like to share a skill, then this would be perfect for you. Your toddlers are also welcome to join you in the art room. Please contact Merrin for further information. memlayden@gmail.com
