Art Room

This term in the art room students are creating art under the theme of Recycled Junk Yard Birds. Kids have loved using their imaginations to create birds from all the found and recycled items from around the art room and from the stuff they have collected from home. It has been very exciting to see the students' imagination run wild with creativity!

Students in Prep classes are using egg cartons to make their bird body, eyes and wings, then adding bottle lids and other found objects. The one/two classes are using smaller plastic bottles to form the main body and other items to finish off their bird.  Students in classes three to six could choose any materials and techniques to complete their bird art. We also made a papier mâché modelling compound to add a sculptural shape to our birds. They are starting to look amazing and so imaginative.

To support student learning, parents are invited to assist in the art room. You will need a current working with children check. Please sign in at the office before you come to the art room.

Craft Group

The TPS community craft group is up and running again. This has always been a great way for our parents, grandparents and carers to meet other community members in a creative space, to create craft things to sell at our next BBQ or Art festival. If you are interested in picking up a new skill or would like to share a skill, then this would be perfect for you. Your toddlers are also welcome to join you in the art room.  Please contact Merrin for further information. memlayden@gmail.com
