Prep Road Safety
It has been a busy week in Prep as we finished our Integrated Unit on Health and Safety. All the Preps made a car to participate in our Road Safety incursion on Friday 16 June. We followed the road rules around G-Block including stop signs, a roundabout and some pedestrian crossings. It was lots of fun.
Also during the Integrated unit we learnt about the different organisations (Police, Fire, Ambulance and SES) that can help us in the community and what we can do in an emergency. On Monday 19 June, one of our student’s grandfather who is the controller at SES Frankston, was kind enough to come to Bayside with two other SES members.
The Preps learnt about the role of the SES, what the name SES stands for and we were able to see the vehicle. They showed us all the tools they use and all the Preps got to sit in the driver's seat! Such a valuable afternoon and a big thank you for coming to see and teach our Preps about the important work you do for our community!

3/4T Visit ELC
The students in 3/4T were excited to visit the Library, with the task of borrowing picture story books that the ELC3 students would enjoy listening to. On Friday 2 June we arrived in the beautiful ELC ready to choose a buddy and read them some of the stories. Then we went outside to enjoy the sunshine and fresh air while we played together on the equipment and in the sandpit. Finally, all students worked together to pack up, then said a happy goodbye to their newly made friends.
For many 3/4 students, this was the first time they had visited the ELC since they were in the program themselves and many of them could not believe how much smaller the buildings and equipment seemed since then! The students and teachers are all looking forward to more visits in the future.

Lightning Premiership
The Lightning Premiership was a blast! Everyone had a great time! I think it was very fun. Not because we had beaten a lot of people, but because everyone had opportunities to play and do great at the same time! The other schools were amazing as well. but some of the schools didn't know how to play properly, but that didn't ruin our day, we were unstoppable!
On the Netball Lightning Premiership Day the mixed team placed 1st. We made sure that we did not boast, and came out with an amazing outcome. On the day, it was raining and it was a bit cold but we all persevered and never complained. We all were excited when they said that we would be continuing on to division champs.

Primary Art
Primary students have been looking at the Art of Nature this fortnight. Classes have looked at how God has created natural materials for us to use. Discussed that expensive items are not always required to create beautiful Artwork and how natural materials need to be sourced carefully and used sparingly so that we are responsible stewards of God's creation. It was so wonderful to see the students' imaginations run wild.
