Working Bee This Saturday

Come and join a valiant group of volunteers who are making sure the school is looking its best this Saturday. We’re gathering at 9:00am in the staff room and then hoping to complete a range of tasks. A warm sausage sizzle will renew everyone at 12 noon and will again be enjoyed by participants. These tasks include ..

FORPS clearing up in the shed on the oval
Blowing and drain clearing

Whether you can spend an hour or the whole morning, everybody’s contribution is valued. Wear some tough shoes and bring along your gloves! We are also hopeful that some will bring their wheelbarrows to help shift some sand and mulch.

A large pile of old redwood sleepers and branches have been stacked against the Chandler Hall on the driveway. As we head through the winter days parents and carers are invited to pick them up for their open fire. Please let the office know if you wish to access the site and take what is needed.

Great Plans For Our Library and Building Funds

We have recently received some generous gifts through our tax deductible Library Fund and Building Fund. These funds have supported the library collection in the past and allowed us to support the construction of the bike shed and upgrade of our Public Address system. This year we look forward to using the library fund to renew our take home readers and develop a moveable library that takes a range of brand new books to classrooms on specially constructed trollies! We are also excited to be exploring the possibility of installing a screen in the Chandler Hall. This would support the Music & Performing Arts, as well as the Physical Education programs. It would also be used during special events, orientation, area gatherings and incursions. We have already used the Building Fund donations to install a sound system and we are looking forward to the next step.

These tax deductible contributions can be made via Qkr! or with a simple call to the office. Your support to enable us to enrich the teaching and learning experiences at Rosanna Primary are greatly appreciated.

Planning Week

Next week, teachers will be gathering in teams to evaluate and plan forward to the following term. While this causes some disruption to our timetable, it will be an important opportunity for our teachers to enrich learning in their classrooms.

Reports Released Next Week

We are excited to finish this semester celebrating the achievements of students with the publication of student reports in the middle of next week. A newsfeed alert will notify parents that they are ready for download via Compass. We hope that they will provide some opportunity for discussion as we step into next term’s Three Way Conferences.

Three Way Conference – A Curriculum Day

As we emerge from holidays we will have our scheduled Three Way Conferences in the second week of term on Monday 17 July. We hope all parents and carers use this as an opportunity to learn more about their child’s progress. The 15 minute conversations will be an opportunity for students to lead conversations around their learning, as well as followup any questions that may arise from reports.

TheirCare will be running a program for parents and carers seeking supervision on the day. Please contact them if you wish to register your child for parts or the whole of the day.

Early Finish to Term 2 Next Week

School will finish at 2:30pm next Friday 23 June. Supervision of the playground will continue as usual until 2:45pm by which time all students should be heading home or under the supervision of their carers.

Please consider joining us for our final assembly that will start at 1:45pm. We will host the assembly in the Chandler Hall due to the cold and damp conditions forecast. Also our JSC will be updating us all on the progress on identifying a mascot/s for our school values defined last term. They have been leading the school improvement program at Rosanna Primary and we look forward to learning more of their actions in the classrooms.
