We are learning to determine the important information and  ideas within  nonfiction and fiction texts.

VOCABULARY

Determine: To conclude and decide what something is.

Fiction: A text that describes imaginary events and people. 

Nonfiction:  A text that is informative and factual. 

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Read a text with your child and get them to determine the main idea and the significant events within a text. Get them to justify with evidence from text.
