Grade 3 and 4

Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden

The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program continues to be a wonderful opportunity to learn and connect with others. Don’t forget that the recipes followed during our cooking sessions can be accessed via the SAKG Classroom on Showbie. Our first session back this term saw us:

  • experiencing new flavours and textures, then making comparisons to other foods
  • eating stalks of broccoli
  • cooking egg drop soup, broccoli stir-fry, potato tortilla and Portuguese custard tarts
  • regrowing spring onions by using just the ends
  • discovering potatoes when clearing a vegetable garden
  • ensuring the chicken coop had fresh water and food

School Production

There is a buzz in the air as we get closer to the school production, ‘What a Knight’.  The Level 3 and 4 students will be performing their musical numbers on both Monday 14th August and Tuesday 15th August. If you are yet to purchase tickets, please use this link to access seats:

Term 2 CBL - Power

Term 2 saw our students creating self-powered toys as part of our CBL challenge on Power. The Level 3 students designed toys for a target audience, the Preps, and enjoyed sharing their designs at the end of Term 2. The Level 4 students look forward to sharing their designs with the 3-Year Old Kinder students at Burch Memorial Pre School (potentially meeting their future Buddies!).

Writing Competition

We were so impressed by the number of Level 3 and 4 students, who took the time to submit narrative stories as part of a writing competition organised by one of our wonderful Year 6 students. What a great opportunity to showcase the many talented writers we have in our level!

Premier’s Reading Challenge

The Challenge is well underway, but it is not too late to join in! We hope to have many of our Level 3 and 4 students taking part. If you are unable to find your child’s login details that were sent home last term, please reach out to your child’s classroom teacher.
