is this year's theme for the The CBCA (Children's Book Council of Australia) awards.

Our school will celebrate BOOK WEEK  Monday, August 28 - Friday, September 1st, 2023.

During this week we will be celebrating reading, books and Australian children's authors and illustrators. We will be holding a BOOK WEEK parade on Wednesday, August 30 where our school staff and students are invited to dress up as a character from their favorite book. Stay tuned for details of the school assembly to be held on this day. The author ADAM WALLACE will be visiting our school and throughout the week, the students will be engaged in a variety of fun, book related activities to further develop love of literacy and reading.

Boroondara library holiday  programs (Click the link to see the programs on offer)

Our local libraries offer a wealth of resources, activities and holiday events. It's worthwhile investigating their holiday programs in the lead up to the holiday break, as they are geared to children and families. It's also a great time for families to select new books together, when it's ideal to be inside, out of the cold!

CHESS CLUB news...

The CHESS club operates on WEDNESDAYS in the library/resource centre. Please complete an expression of interest form if your child/ren would like to be involved or notify me via email. As we near the end of term, we will send out invoices to families and expressions of interest forms for Term Three. Those students currently attending CHESS club will be enrolled for Term Three unless I am otherwise notified.

Happy Reading.
