Students get ready for the book trivia kahoot
Find your treasure was the theme of this year’s book week and students really got into the spirit of our competitions during the week, competing to take home the loot.
Guess the teachers’ favourite book featured pictures of well-known teachers hiding behind one of their favourite books, and got everybody talking and scouring Ripples for clues. Congratulations to the winners Jenny and Sharon from year 12 and Dulcie, Harper, Dhairya and Liam from year 7, who showed great research skills to reach their high score.
Book trivia Kahoot was a big hit and had around 80 students battling the overloaded wi-fi and vying to show their book trivia knowledge. Congratulations to team Psi Kids from year 10: Meg, Angela, Jane, Isabella, Holly and Sarah and team Obsidian from year 7: Bella, Linh, Chloe, Georgie, Ellen, Esther and Eva. The Obsidian girls also took out the tie-break question and won themselves free tickets to the Writers’ Festival next Saturday. Well done girls!
There is still time to write reviews of the ‘Lucky Dip’ books chosen during Book Week and be in with a chance of winning a book voucher prize. Help other students find great books to read and win something for yourself. The final date for entries is 4 pm on Friday the 7 September.
Book week lunchtimes in the libary also saw students creating their own treasure, using shrink art to make key-rings and ear-rings.
The library will be open during lunch for students studying for exams and SACs only.
All other year levels can access the library resources and printing services for the last 15 minutes of lunch time.
Thank you for supporting our senior students during their exam and assessment preparation.
