Senior Boys State Football Win

A big congratulations to our Senior Boys Football team for taking out the State Championships for the second year in a row.  The boys played some fantastic footy and were well supported with many families coming along to cheer the boys on.  We are hoping for a full match report in the next newsletter.

Year 9 and 10 Boys Table Tennis

On Monday 27th August nine of our boys competed in regional table tennis.  The A team consisted of five Year 10 boys: Jackson Bedggod, Matthew Lyster, Dion Plarinos, Dimitrios Syrbopoulos and Jake Tangalidis. The B team was four Year 9 boys: Christian Gerassimou, Ritish Kandel, Will Moran and Daniel Thai. 

There were four teams in each pool.  The day was dominated by Northcote and Thornbury.  Northcote B won the B pool and played Thornbury A, the winner of the A pool, in the final. Thornbury won.

Northcote A came second in the A pool and played Thornbury B who had come second in the B pool. Northcote won.

If that’s a lot of confusing Northcotes, Thornburys, As and Bs, the bottom line is that of eight teams that competed our Year 9s came second and our Year 10s came third.  A great effort boys!

Intermediate Basketball

Well done  to our Intermediate Basketball teams who competed in the Divisional Basketball Competition on August 27.  Northcote came away with the win for both the boys and girls competitions which sees them move through to the Regional Finals on October 18.  A big thank you to our Staff Coaches Ms Lester and Ms Tayton and our Student coaches Max Ramsay and Thomas Straube.
