Cambodia raffle

Many thanks to all the parents and staff members who bought a ticket in the Cambodia Tour raffle at last week’s Parent Teacher Conversation evening. Team Cambodia appreciates your support enormously, as it will assist us to plan and pay for our community project in-country this November. We will be working with a local community to build a greenhouse and work in a school. Construction of a well may also be on the cards. The greenhouse will enable villagers to grow a wider variety of fresh vegetables more successfully, which will provide them with better nutrition options for themselves and additional produce that can be sold at markets to generate income. The school project will be some kind of construction-based work, such as repairing or beautifying parts of buildings or school equipment. Both projects will be undertaken under the supervision of local experts, and will therefore also contribute to providing income to the locals. Additional funds will be used to purchase and donate appropriate items during our visit – for example, art or writing materials for the school or seedlings for the new greenhouse.
We raised over $300, and the lucky winner was one of our NHS Dads. Thanks also to anyone who donated a prize as part of the raffle.
