Studio Art’s latest Warhols

Northcote Students in Yr 11 Unit 2 Studio Art have used innovative and creative thinking techniques to come up with a screenprint based around their personal theme. They researched into well-known artists who have used screenprinting and the photo transfer technique. Credit is generally given to the Pop artist Andy Warhol for popularising screen printing as an artistic technique, identified as serigraphy, in the United States. Screen printing lends itself well to printing on canvas. Andy Warhol, Arthur Okamura, Robert Rauschenberg, Roy Lichtenstein, Harry Gottlieb and many other artists have used screen printing as an expression of creativity and artistic vision. Come down to the Beugelaar Gallery in C Block to have a look at the student’s latest work on display.
