A very musical month
Our ensembles have been busy performing at a range of Music events throughout August. Starting with Oxfam Concerts at Box Hill Town Hall, our talented musicians have played at a range of events. Gigs also included the annual Jazz Night and Strings, Wine and Cheese, with special guests the Melba Big Band, Dan Witton and our very own Sue Harrap.
Our ensembles have also represented NHS proudly at the Victorian Schools Music Festival, Royal South Street and Essentially Ellington competitions achieving the following awards:
Concert Band- Bronze Award
Symphonic Band- Gold Award
Strings, Wine and Cheese - thanks to our supporters
A big thank you to McPherson Wines who generously supplied the vino for our recent Strings, Wine and Cheese event. All funds raised from the sale of the wine and cheese go to purchasing additional instruments and equipment for our Music program. Thanks also to the Friends of Performing Arts for their organisation of this fundraising.
