YEAR 12 GRAMPIANS TRIP

From March 16-19, the VCE units 3 and 4 Outdoor Education students completed their first school camp of the year: A trip to Halls Gap in the Grampians National Park. Students participated in a range of different activities including Bushwalking, Rock climbing, Abseiling and Nature walks. The weather was perfect across the camp and the students were able to explore the dry forest and woodlands whilst it was still very green and in bloom from recent rains. Highlights of the trip included a 14km hike to the top of Mt Rosea, rock climbing up 20m natural rock walls and abseiling down 60m cliff faces. Patterson River Secondary College is extremely proud of all our Outdoor Education students as they showed exceptional resilience and persistence when faced with the physical and mental challenges of the camp. I look forward to our next trip which will be to Mt Buller ski resort for some downhill fun in the snow.
