Languages Week

Languages Week

Languages Week is a week of cultural activities aiming to celebrate multiculturalism at Doncaster Secondary College, raise students’ cultural awareness and improve their language skills.

This year’s Languages Week provided lots of fun activities for all students and teachers, such as the annual Spaghetti Eating Competition, Chinese Lion dancing.

There was also the opportunity to taste some delicious food such as Bubble Tea & French crepes. Students were given the challenge to research and construct a famous landmark using only matchsticks and glue!

The week culminated in a Multicultural Free Dress day. The next edition of the newsletter will have more information and photos! Stay tuned!

We were very glad to see a lot of enthusiastic faces and we hope everyone has enjoyed themselves last week!

Spaghetti Eating Competition

On Monday, 26 April, the annual Spaghetti Eating Competition was held at lunchtime outside the Music Centre.

Due to the overwhelming number of students and staff supporting this event we were able to offer four rounds.

Over 10kg of pasta was consumed, with leftovers being distributed to students within the crowd cheering their classmates on. Mr Brogno. It was great to see so many enthusiastic participants and a special congratulations to each of the winners: Josh P. 10B, Jason J. 7C. Mitchell W. 7D and Logan B-F 10F.
