Year 3/4 Excursion

The ducks were poking my hand when I was feeding them. One of the ducks was sneaky and he was picking the food from the bucket. They waddle as they walk around. Ducks feathers are waterproof and sometimes water sits on the feathers. Their beaks are hard.

Guinea Pigs are soft and fluffy. They are very cute. We held the baby guinea pigs and they look a bit like a mouse. By Katelin & Allie.

Last week  we went to Animal Land, it was so much fun. We rode a pony, one was called Snowflake. She was a white horse and she was big for me but other people might think it is small. Then the other kids had a turn and I was playing in the playground, it was so much fun. There were two slides, one was long and one was small. I loved the long one because it was bumpy, that's what made it fun! By Gail

P-1

The Prep and Year One students learnt about habitats in particular a birds habitat. They were able to look at a real birds nest and learn now a bird makes their nest. Students then worked in groups. They collected materials from the garden that they could use to make their own birds nest. After we finished making our nests we tested them out to see if they could safely hold an egg.

The students in Prep and Year One continue to develop their social skills as they explore new learnings in their wonderful discovery area.

Here they are developing their party planning skills, perfecting their chess moves and creating mini beast habitats.

Ankita Actualises Amazing Achievement

It's important that we recognise excellence across all areas of learning for our students. Last Monday, Ankita Das, our Environment Minister, received an invitation for the Black Belt grading in Taekwondo. Let's hear from her now!

Ankita ~ " I was really excited when I first received the news that I could grade!!! It was an amazing and proud feeling I had inside of myself that not all students get to experience.

When I received my black belt, I felt this rush of excitement and will that I could do anything. Half way through my grading I felt really tired, but it was that one question I asked myself. " Why did you start doing this?" My motivation changed completely after that and I new I had to push my body to the absolute limit if I really wanted this.

My stamina and courage that I had inside of me cannot be described in words, but I think that with the word courage and my family cheering me on, I knew I could achieve the impossible."

Ankita with her block, her book and her black belt. Congratulations, Ankita!
