Year 8 workshops

Carlton Respects

Throughout Term 2, our Year 8 students will be participating in the Carlton Respects workshops.

CARLTON RESPECTS has been developed in response to the alarming statistics around family violence in our community and the latest research from "Our Watch" showing schools and sports as important settings for change. This program has been aligned to the Victorian Government’s ‘Resilience Rights & Respectful Relationships’ curriculum, complementing the work we have already done with our students in Year 7.

Students will participate in 4x 1 hour-long sessions over a 4 week period. Sessions will mostly take place within the classroom and will be led by a facilitator from Carlton FC. There will be some practical components of the program, in which students will be led to the park for some interactive activities linking theory to practice.

We are excited to have the opportunity to offer this program to our students and are looking forward to welcoming the facilitators for our first sessions in Week 1, Term 2.
