School Council Working Groups

Call for members
Participation is the hallmark of a vibrant and engaged school community. There is compelling evidence that an involved, participative and dynamic school community results in better educational outcomes for our children and school.
There are many ways to participate in the school community. One of these is through the various Working Groups of School Council. You do not need to be an elected member of Council to be involved in the Working Groups, which enable groups of parents and staff to work together around particular projects of interest or need.
Two working groups of School Council are currently seeking new members.
1. Events and Fundraising
The Events and Fundraising Working Group is a permanent group of School Council. We meet once a month to plan and implement major school fundraising events such as the annual Comedy Night, in addition to other community events and smaller fundraising activities throughout the year. The group also has a role in the promotion of and recommendations to the Northcote Thrive Fund.If you are keen to get involved in creating events and activities that bring our community together and raise funds to enhance student opportunities, please consider joining this Working Group.
Next meeting: Monday 23 April, 6pm in the school Staffroom
2. Uniform Working Group
The Uniform Working Group is seeking 2-3 additional parent members to provide input on new uniform items and policy matters over the next few months.
For further information or to express interest in either of these working groups, please email Assistant Principal Ciar Foster – foster.ciar.c@edumail.vic.gov.au
