Bus Travel arrangements
Bus travel
Families are reminded that students are to travel only on their allocated bus. In an emergency, the college needs to be able to rely on accurate and up-to-date bus rolls.
If a student needs to travel on a different bus for a one-off occasion, the college may allow this if written permission from the parent/carer is provided to the college office the day before travel is needed, and only if there is available space on the bus. One off bus travel will not be permitted on the same day, except in the case of an emergency in which case the parent/carer needs to phone the college office and obtain approval from an Assistant Principal for such an arrangement.
Notes from parents/carers are not to be handed directly to bus drivers.
Students are also reminded that they need to be at their bus stop 5 minutes before the scheduled time in the morning.
Face masks
Students 8 years and older are required to wear face masks whilst travelling on a school bus.
Code Red Days
Gisborne Secondary College is on the Bushfire at Risk Register which means the college will be closed on Code Red Days. Staff won't be in attendance and buses won't transport students to school. The buses for the primary schools will not operate.
College Entrance / Bus Loop
Vehicles other than school buses and emergency services are not permitted to enter the bus loop from 3.00pm on school days until the last bus has left the bus loop. Please do not enter the bus loop or use the exit gate during this time.
