RAID

Year 9 Program

This week in RAID, the year 9s that stayed within the school had a wonderful time with various incursions.

We learnt about forces and demonstrated them with rockets made from plastic bottles, filled with water and air. When we launched them, they flew high and far. It was kind of scary, but very fun! Provided by VSSEC.

We went through a lesson on geology, studying rocks and figuring out what minerals made them up, even occasionally smashing them and looking under the microscope! Also provided by VSSEC.

We learnt about African drumming, the culture and 3 different ways to hit the drum. We played different parts and rhythms, even callbacks. It was so much fun, and nobody left the room without a smile on their face!

Stay tuned for the Gisborne town rotation next time.
