Welcome back families to 2022

It has been lovely to see all the smiling faces on both the students and parents. It has been a good start to the year, but it has also been difficult for those families who have been in isolation and not been able to start the year or have had their start cut short by testing positive this week. Our thoughts and prayers go to these families and we wish you a speedy recovery and return to school.

Teachers are reaching out to those students who are in isolation and offering some work which can be accessed online or for collection/ drop off.

I will continue to keep you updated daily, on the positive cases in the school.

Please continue to do the RATs twice a week and if your child tests positive, then please notify the school office. The student must isolate at home for 7 days.

If someone in your household test positive, then all members of the household are 'household contacts' and must isolate for 7 days.

If your child has had COVID, then they are exempt from any testing for 30 days from the day they tested positive. After the 30 days, then two RATs are required each week.

We are expecting the next delivery of RAT kits next Thursday or Friday and again we will distribute these via a drive thru process.

A special welcome to our new families and I hope you have all had a wonderful start to your time at St Louis. Please reach out if you have any questions or queries. We are here to help in any way we can.

Thank you to the PFA for the lovely morning tea that was given to our prep parents in the garden on Monday morning.

Our Parents and Friends Association(PFA) is a great way for parents to meet each other and to support our school. The PFA will be asking for help in the coming weeks and it would be amazing to get more volunteers to help with the events.

Staff Update

I would like to welcome some new staff members to St Louis;

Mr Dean Andrew will be taking PE on a Monday and Friday for term 1.

Mr Anthony Denton (Senor Antonio) the new Italian teacher.

Mrs Kate O'Brien Gr 6 KO

 Mrs Josephine Marshall PJM

Mr Henry Mutimer is on sick leave at the moment and we wish him a speedy recovery.

Changes to Sanctuary Place

I have been made aware of changes to the parking at Sanctuary Place. I understand this is causes many problems and stress to a large number of families.

I will make contact with Mr Tim Richardson the State Member for Mordialloc and put forward a case for separate parking facilities for the parents at St Louis who need access to St Louis from Wells Rd. I will keep you informed of my progress.

New Uniform

As you were made aware last year we are making changes to the school uniform. The new sports top and polo tops will be slowly replaced over the next 2 years. They will be made available for purchase as our current stock runs out. The new tops WILL NOT be compulsory until Term 1 of 2024.

Enjoy your weekend

kind regards
