A Message from the Principal

Mrs Pauline Long

Dear Parents and Carers,

The students settled quickly into school routines last week and the whole school was excited to welcome our new Kinder students to school yesterday. They had a wonderful first day of school and particularly enjoyed meeting their Year 5/6 buddy.

Last week I shared with you an in depth look at our school motto Come! Share the Spirit. Today, I would like to focus on our School Crest as the image below explains. Even though we no longer have the Sisters of St Joseph teaching in our school it is important for the students to know about the history of our school.

NEW READING RESOURCES!

A huge thank you to the Catholic Schools Office for providing our school with new reading resources for Guided Reading. We received quality literature books, PM Readers, decodable InitiaLit readers and  PM reading cards. What a great way to start the new school year!

I look forward to seeing our school community attend our Annual Swimming Carnival this Thursday 10th February from 3.00pm. To be COVID safe we ask that parents sit across the pool from the students and that you are mindful to socially distance from one another. Please do not attend if you are unwell and don't forget to sign in and sanitise your hands upon arrival.

This Friday all students will attend Mass to celebrate the beginning of a new school year and to ask for God's blessing on our school community. Unfortunately, due to the current COVID restrictions parents are not permitted to attend. For this reason we have decided to delay the induction of our new School Leaders until later in the term when parents can attend.

Have a wonderful week. Thank you for your continued support of our COVID safe protocols. Your next set of Rapid Antigen Tests may be collected from the front school gate tomorrow Wednesday 9th February from 8.00am - 3.30pm or at the PT & F meeting on Wednesday evening at 6.00pm.
