In 2021

St Bede’s College Mentone supported three student teams in entering the STEM Video Games Challenge. This is a national competition where students make a video game in teams of up to four students, from years 5-12. In 2021, the theme was “Scale” and our teams made different games and wrote an extensive Game Design Document to accompany their entries.

St Bede’s College was represented by Josh Valvo from year 10, Team Piccolo Productions comprising Harrison McCawley and Jack Weavers from year 8 and Team Monke Evil Inc. comprising Taro Falconer, Ethan Molina, Zack Shaw, and Sebastian Varga from year 7. All teams submitted an entry, and we were extremely proud that our year 7 team made it to the semi-final round.

Congratulations to everyone who participated, it is a challenging project and it was wonderful to see three teams submit their hard work.

The STEM Video Games Challenge is back for 2022 with the theme “Networks”! See Ms Spencer (ss) or Mr Meade (jpm) for more details on how you can be involved.
