Obituaries

Our sincere condolences go to the families and friends of members of our community who have passed away.

FIONA CHRISTIE, CLASS OF 1977

Passed away on 25 December 2020.

Some words from Fiona’s daughter, Ebony Sturgess.

Mum always spoke very highly of her high school years. She was very proud to be a Kilvonian and even kept her School dress which now hangs in my closet.

Alumni news

It was lovely to hear this piece of trivia from Christina ahead of the scheduled 50-year reunion.

CHRISTINE HENDERSON, CLASS OF 1971

On Thursday 5 August, it will have been 50 years to the day since our Year 12 School Dance at the Brighton International (Thursday 5 August, 1971). My partner for that event was a blind date arranged by a mutual friend. The handsome 17-year-old became my husband four years later, and we recently celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary!

Congratulations Christine, and thank so much for sharing.

SHELLY PENN AM, CLASS OF 1982

Congratulations to Shelly Penn AM who was made a Member of the Order of Australia in the 2021 Queen’s Birthday Honours for her significant service to architecture and design in the public realm and to professional institutes.

Shelly is a Melbourne-based award-winning architect, educator, urbanist and built environment advocate.

Shelly said, "I really enjoyed my years at Kilvington and still recall and valuable advice I received from all of my final year teachers. In particular, a comment made Mr Stone (then Principal) in my final year about the importance of the School motto - Non nobis sed omnibus. Not for our own but others’ good - has been relevant to my efforts to contribute to society through my work.”

2021 Kilvonian Yearbook

The annual Kilvonian Yearbook captures the special moments of school life throughout the year and celebrates individual and collective achievements.

A copy of the 2021 Kilvonian will be made available to view on our website shortly.
