Physics/Fyzika

The latest most likely electrical engineers in Year 5 -  Andrea Petrovičová and Filip Kotrba - made a successful electric motor with a unique design that Mr Straughan said 'would never work!' but it did!!

In the photo below, Nikola Tomanová and Eva Müllerová are proudly showing their loudspeaker design.

Na fotografii níže Nikola Tomanová a Eva Müllerová hrdě ukazují svoji konstrukci reproduktoru.

Here are two beautifully illustrated loudspeakers as part of a Physics Electromagnetism task to make, test and decorate a loudspeaker.

Zde jsou dva krásně ilustrované reproduktory, kterou jsou součástí úkolu z fyziky na téma elektromagnetismus. Cílem bylo vyrobit, otestovat a ozdobit reproduktor.

Futurethink by Lucienne Erent - Year 1

Imagine sitting in a cozy cafe

Where ivy crawls and twists up the walls.

I’m holding a warm, steamy latte.

Later, I walk down crowded halls

To make my escape to the Broadway stage,

Hoping my work makes an impact,

Writing down thoughts on a white page,

Covering insecurities with a silent “Stop that.”

Actress, Director, with an Ivy League degree,

Writer, Performer, Climate Justice Activist.

You might say it’s too much but I have to disagree,

In fact, while I’m at it, I shall become an artist.

Maybe I’m looking too far ahead

And first should plan my years in school.

I’ll read all the books that could be read

With grades that would make a parent drool.

I’ll join my high school theater troupe

Performing for the masses,

Enjoy long dinners of ramen soup

With my friends after classes.

My cosplay productions will expand,

With the numberless roles I’ll play.

Mastering guitar, I’ll form a band.

Je vais bien parler français.

School is over, so I’ll take my diploma,

And start my gap year with a trip to Bali,

Then admire the cherry trees at Osaka,

While devouring sushi under Mount Fuji.

Traveling the world, I’ll be inspired

To write my fantasy steampunk series.

These are the dreams I’ve so far acquired.

You said, “Look ahead” and these are my theories.

Looking Ahead by Alex Hanzal - Year 2

There once lay a world hidden in darkness,

A locked door hiding it deep underneath.

The key has been lost but no one's left searching,

No soul left believing it's still there.

Behind the door in the steep rocky valleys,

One lonesome man is singing his song.

He's left his home letting the memories burn,

He doesn't look back as he cannot return.

The path that he took has become scarce of life,

Once it did flourish but since then it's died.

The man doesn't think of the damage that's done,

It is beyond his power to fight against time.

The days start to blur and his heart slows its beat,

The Man is so tired yet the nights bring no sleep.

As he sits on The ground that he learned to call home

He looks at the Mountains wondering if they bare his tomb.

His journey's been long, full of sorrow and pain,

Yet never once he's asked if it's all been in vain.

He tries to remember why he left his home,

He once had a family, he wasn't alone.

What brought this man so far away from his home,

What made him forget and what brought him his song?

To his own anger he cannot recall,

He shouts at the world but no answer's returned.

What future could there be,

The man cannot see.

The fog starts to surround him,

The man doesn’t fight and simply gives in.

He's come so far and the cost was so high,

Was the pain worth it if he's going to die?

The man looks around at the dead land around,

This can't be the life he spent so long to find.

There has to be more waiting somewhere beyond,

Where pain is forgotten and hope is once more.

Looking ahead a bright future must lay,

A small house and a family on a shining bright day.

The man gets back up on his unsteady feet,

His muscles still ache but he feels complete.

He’s found where the end of his journey will lay,

Over the mountains he mustn’t delay.

The fog has been lifted,

The man can finally see.

The path is now clearer,

He knows what it will bring.

It’ll bring him pain and loss and sorrow,

Yet still it will bring him a new tomorrow.

The man no longer dreads the path lying ahead,

He knows that what’s lost will come back again.

From death a new life shall rise.

From pain happiness comes.

Life is a circle,

It doesn't end nor begin.

Maybe one day, I will be okay

by David Šťovíček - Year 3

As I look back,

All I see is black,

The darkness eating me alive,

I cannot hide,

My past is haunting me.

As I look at the scars,

Gracing my arms,

I remember the pain of crying,

Alone and feeling like dying,

I wished I wasn’t me.

All that is in the past,

It luckily didn’t last,

And when I tasted the sweetness of stability,

I got addicted to this sanity,

And so I made a promise.

A promise to stay on the track,

To get my own mind back,

I didn’t see life as a burden,

I wanted to grow as a person,

I will see the light again.

It’s been a short while,

Since I said I would aspire

To be the best version of me,

But not every day I feel that free,

I always have to remind myself:

“Maybe one day,

I will be okay”.

No Turning Back by Sofia Nemeth - Year 5

I wake up

You’re still beside me

Gently stroking my arm

Though the sun warms my body

I only feel the warmth

Of your fingertips

Drowsily, I turn towards you

A crooked smile on my face

You smile back

Your lips start moving

But I don’t hear a word

A blurred static

Fills my ears instead

Snap

You’re gone

I’m wrapped in a sweater

That once was yours

Nothing remains

Just your sweet scent

The sky is grey

Raindrops are falling

The air is cold

Outside the warmth of your sweater

I cling on

I close my eyes

Breathe in

Breathe out

The sky is clear

A beautiful blue

Among the daffodils and daisies

I see a smiling you

I run towards you

You stay in the same spot

But despite that

I can’t seem to reach you

You’re getting further and further away

I call out your name

Your eyes meet mine

Your mouth moves

A buzzing static

Fills my head

No

I shout

Suddenly upright

Don’t go

I sob into the sweater

I try to bring you back

But you’re gone

The last of you

Buzzing and bothering me

Don’t taunt me memories

For wanting to stay with you

Don’t haunt me memories

For being with you

Your scent has faded

I go out in the rain

And in the drops

I hear your voice

Calling me

I look up

The static clears

And I see your face

And I remember how

To step forward

And start to continue

Charity for OPU/Charity pro organizaci OPU

The Student Council has decided to support the charity OPU (Organisation for Aid to Refugees) this year. The ECP Christmas Concert is one of the main fundraising events during the school year. The OPU has raised CZK 30,000 from their Christmas collection and was able to use the funds to support 205 children from refugee camps and children homes in the Czech Republic. Many thanks to all the contributors.
