Year Advisers Reports
Years 7, 9 & 11
Year 7 have had a great start to their exciting journey of high school here at Henry Kendall. I could see the nerves as they walked through the gate for the first time, dressed in outstanding uniforms with their oversized bags on, ready to begin their first day. These nerves shortly went away when they were reunited with their friends, found their classes and participated in a tour around the school and ending the day with sport and orienteering activities. They were all red in the face and exhausted, but never the less they were all smiling and happy.
As expected, the first few weeks of the term have been very busy and there has been minor troubles along the way, including misreading the timetable or getting lost on the way to class. I have received so many positive reports from teachers across all subject areas saying how wonderful Year 7 have settled in and how eager they are to learn. I am looking forward to getting to know the students better and I am excited for the adventures yet to come. Amazing start Year 7!!

Year 7 Adviser
Welcome Back to the new school year! Once again, we are hoping for a year that is not interrupted with home base learning, however I do know they have the skills to cope after the crazy couple of years that have started their high schooling.
I would like to welcome our new students and their families to the school: Brianna Colquhon, Ethan Dwyer, Caja Martin and Emilie Stevens.
Year 9 students have settled well into their next stage of schooling. I would like to thank all students for their mature approach to Year 9. Most reports so far have been positive and they are trying their best. Year 9 have started exploring their new electives and are thoroughly enjoying their experiences in those subjects.
To help with this new stage, students should remember the advice they were given during their welfare day from last year on being organised and the different tools they can use to help with keeping track of their timetable and remembering when assessment tasks are due.
Year 9 have a new Google Classroom this year, where I update with important information, answer questions and share silly memes. For those students who have not yet joined the code is: sqj6b3f
I am looking forward to another exciting year!

Year 9 Adviser
Congratulations to Year 11 for an impressive start to your Stage 6 journey! It brought great joy to all of your teachers to see your happy faces and your shiny, new, yellow senior shirts on your return to school at the start of the year. Mrs James and I have both already had several experiences with colleagues seeking us out to sing the praises of the students in their Year 11 classes. Well done!
This year also marks the beginning of my journey as your newest Year Adviser. I am honoured to be in this role, and I am excited to see what our time together over the next two years will bring. I am already so proud to be associated with this wonderful group of students and am looking forward to supporting them throughout what will at times be a daunting, difficult experience, yet full of potential for lots of enjoyable moments and achieving milestones.
The first of these will be the arrival of the much anticipated senior jackets within the next couple of weeks. Year 11 have made their excitement for the jackets very clear and they will most likely be hoping for a cold snap to get use out of them straight away.
A reminder to Year 11 students and those who support them that at Year Assemblies I will be awarding individuals or groups as a hero of the week for being awesome or going above and beyond at school or in the wider community, so please share nominations with me so we can recognise positive moments. And yes, I am proud of my pun game with the title for this award: Fitz’s Herald!
