Welcome to our library community for 2022 and an especially warm welcome to families who are new to our school. It is lovely to have students with us again and we are enjoying seeing them make the most of our facilities and resources.
Library Lovers' Day
Library Lovers' Day is on Monday 14 February and the theme for 2022 is 'Show the Love'. It is a day to celebrate the valuable roles libraries play in our lives. We all remember the joy of discovering something as a child and I encourage everyone to 'show the love' for reading, finding out, inquiring and discovering things.
We would love to hear from students, staff and parents. What is your favourite love quote from a book? Get a pink heart from the library or the link below and write your favourite quote from a book within the heart, or tell us what you love about libraries. Send us a picture of you with your favourite book to library@gsg.wa.edu.au. We would like to create a wall of GSG Library Lovers!
Book Club
There will be a delay to the start of Scholastic Book Club as the pamphlets are stuck in the Eastern States.
Learnpath and Databases
This year the Library has increased our digital resources for students. The ability to obtain high quality information easily is essential for students completing assignments and exploring their passions. Our selection of digital resources gives students access to authoritative sources of information for research.
Learnpath sits within our library system. LearnPath allows library staff to support teachers and students by providing curated subject guides and resources specifically structured to the learning curriculum. LearnPath is navigated by year level and subject, and has embedded digital, interactive and other content linked to assignment tasks and curriculum, all accessed through ‘Oliver’ and available to the school community 24/7.
