Principals' Update

What a year 2021 has been!

We have reached the final week and we would like to thank each and every member of the CNPS family for all you have done during this school year. We are very proud of the children and how resilient they have been.

This term has been exceptionally busy as we tried to ensure that the children had as many experiences as they could during yet another Covid-hit year. They have enjoyed their camps, excursions, Colour Fun Run and have ended so beautifully on a musical note with the wonderful Matilda production.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the amazing teachers and school staff for all their hard work and adaptability in jumping from in-school to online and back again. They have done so much for the children over the year and will be sad to pass their classes on to new teachers.

We would like to thank all parents for your continued support over the year. It hasn’t been an easy one yet again, but you have done amazing work in supporting your children throughout the year and especially during remote learning.

We are very proud of the children and all the hard work they have done. You truly demonstrated the school values during the year and we hope that you enjoy the summer break.

We would like to congratulate all our year 6 children who made such wonderful speeches at their Graduation on Monday. We are so proud of you. We wish you every success in the future and thank you and your families for all you have done for the school.

Some great funding news to end the year!

School Council was notified yesterday that the two grants we applied for earlier in the year have been approved. The Inclusive Schools Fund grant will allow us to install acoustic treatments in the areas of the school currently without, giving these areas greater sound-proofing and ensuring all students are able to hear to the best of their ability in the classroom.

The Minor Capital Works grant will allow us to upgrade the student toilets in the Junior Building.

The total of these grants is $336,150.  We sincerely thank our wonderful parents Annelise, Kylie, Megan, Stephen and Henry for all their incredible work in putting the submissions together.

School Council also thanks our local MPs Sheena Watt and Ellen Sandell for their advocacy, which is greatly appreciated.

Don’t forget that school finishes on Friday 17th at 1.30pm after our final assembly.

We look forward to seeing you back on Tuesday 1st February 2022.

Thanking you all for your continued support,

Eoghan O’Muirgheasa, Erin Brown & Jane Bilby
