Before and After School Care at Holy Family

Diary Entry: Tuesday 15th February 202

Jai and Jasmine came into after school care with a big smile and asked “Are we cooking berry muffins”.  Both children were eager to start in the kitchen.

Our little Master Chefs helped to set up the ingredients needed, and with Jillian’s help, with reading the recipe, they both helped to measure out the correct amounts of flour, sugar, milk, and berries. Great sharing and taking turns, gave the mix a good stir ensuring all the ingredients blended. 

Following on carefully spoon the mix into paper cups and into the oven to cook.  The Children commented, “the muffins smell so nice”.

As a teacher looking at this great activity I realise that Before and After School Care for the children at Holy Family is much more than being taken care of. Imagine the language development and socialisation skills these children are developing through some of the structured activities that they are participating in. 

If you need assistance with care before or after school please come to the office and we will introduce you to Jillian. 

ACTIVITIES FOR STUDENTS WHO DON'T REQUIRE BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL CARE

Our Patch is organising some fantastic after school events for children. At the moment a visitor comes in each Thursday afternoon and the children are using Lego to create some amazing things. If you think your child would be interested in participating in this after school event for the next 4 weeks can you please contact the front office for more information? There is a cost involved, which is dependent on family income and some paperwork to fill in, but if you think your child would enjoy this experience please speak with us.
