People are often unreasonable, illogical and egocentric –

  It doesn’t matter, love them anyway.

If you are kind people may accuse you of ulterior motives –

  It doesn’t matter, do the good.

If you are successful you may win some false friends and some true enemies –

  It doesn’t matter, succeed anyway.

If you are honest, people may cheat you –

  It doesn’t matter, be honest anyway.

What you spend years building people may destroy overnight –

   It doesn’t matter, build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness; people may be jealous –

  It doesn’t matter, be happy anyway.

The good you do today will often be forgotten tomorrow –

  It doesn’t matter, do the good anyway.

Give the world the best you have and it may not be good enough –

  It doesn’t matter, do the best you can anyway.

If you help people and they resent it –

  It doesn’t matter, help them anyway.
