Principal's Report

From The Principal

New Uniform

The college is excited to announce that, with the full endorsement of the college council, we will be adopting a new college uniform next year, 2018.  It  will be compulsory for students in prep and Year 7 starting next year, 2018.  Full details about the uniform will be available on our college website and samples will be on display in the college foyer.

All other students will have a two year phase in period to purchase the new uniform. This means our current uniform  can be worn for the next two years. The new uniform will then be compulsory for all students, prep to year 12,  in 2020.

All stock of the current uniform will be heavily reduced to allow parents and students to purchase items at greatly discounted prices.  However, any families that wish to purchase the new uniform may do so as well.

Further details will be sent to all parents about the uniform in the coming weeks.

A PROUD DAY FOR OUR CARWATHA COMMUNITY

On Tuesday the 5th of September we held our annual multi-cultural assembly. This was an amazing event that celebrated not only the multi-cultural nature of our school, but also the cultural diversity that makes Australia such a great country. It was also very special, because it was initiated, organised and run by our students. We were entertained by  talented students who performed wonderful cultural dances, songs, music and recitals. It was good to see so many parents in attendance.  There was a strong sense of respect and celebration throughout the school. The day was an excellent example of what makes Carwatha such a special place. Thank you to the secondary SRC for organising the assembly, Ms Bawa and Ms Naylor for their support, the students and staff who dressed in cultural costumes and the parents for so proudly supporting the day.

Presentation Ball

On Friday September the 1st I had the pleasure of attending my first Presentation Ball as Principal of Carwatha College P 12.

It was a great night with the students looking amazing and performing brilliantly in their dances.

I would like to thank Ms Tzilantonis for leading the event and Ms Bawa, Ms Ross and Ms Coxhill for all the hard work they put into the event from the practices to the planning for the evening-  it is an enormous amount of work. The students had a great night and it is a memory they will cherish for ever.

It is only possible to have these events through the hard work and dedication of staff.

Parent Teacher Night

Parent Teacher night is on Thursday the 14th of September. I encourage all parents to make appointments with their children’s teachers. It is a great opportunity to receive feedback on your child’s progress and to help them to achieve their best for the remainder of the year.

School will start at 10.00 am on Friday the 15th.
