Principal's  Message

Our International Links

Br Shahid, a De La Salle brother Principal from Pakistan, will be here on Tuesday to Friday during the first week of third term. We look forward to welcoming him as he shadows a number of people in their roles. It is important to remember that we are part of a Province that not only includes Australia and New Zealand, but also Pakistan and Papua New Guinea. Br Shahid does a fine job in challenging conditions and is more than worthy of our support. In addition to sharing practice and ideas educationally, we also support a number of initiatives in the Province financially.

Tercentenary

We celebrate the Tercentenary of the death of our founder, St John Baptist de la Salle, in 2019.  Preparations are already well underway for this significant event.  We are blessed to be able to use the inspiration of our patron to educate young men in a way that reflects his legacy in a contextual way.

Grease

Well done to the team of Grease, The Musical, as it completed its five show season.  The praise for the production was universally positive with excellent reviews from each night and matinee performances.

Sport

Congratulations also go the the Year 9 ACC Football Team who recently won the Premiership.

This is the third consecutive year that this group has achieved the feat.  The game was played at a high standard and in good spirits with St Bede's defeating St Joseph's College, Geelong by a slender margin.

Debating

I was fortunate to listen to the first set of House Debates in the library last Friday.  These debates continue this week.  The boys are to be commended on their enthusiasm and teamwork.  The fact that it took place in a busy, lunchtime environment also reinforces the natural order with such events.

Thailand Outreach

All the best to our staff and students who are currently in Thailand as volunteers.  We wish them every blessing as they put words in to action through the practical construction of facilities for our brother Lasallian school.

May all students find the upcoming break one of rest, recreation and, for our senior boys, reflective study.  May the Lord keep us all safe until we return to the College for third term.
