Deakin Oration

On Friday 6 September, Mr Damian Smith and five Year 11 students attended the Deakin Oration at Parliament House.

The speaker was past pupil Marilyn Warren AC, former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Victoria and a Past Pupil of Distinction.

Marilyn was asked, “Are there women who have encouraged or inspired you in your chosen career path?" Marilyn credited Kilbreda teacher and later Mayor of Malvern, Anne Morrow, for inspiring her to aspire to work in Parliament one day as Anne had brought Marilyn's class there on an excursion around 1966!

A 'full-circle' moment for our students.
