Class of 1962

57 Year Reunion

On Saturday 16 November members of the Class of 1962 gathered at Kilbreda to celebrate 57 Years on from Kilbreda.

The memories of our days at Kilbreda, our teachers, fellow class mates and adventures are still with us and the enjoyment of revisiting our Kilbreda days is now  looked at with different eyes, appreciative eyes.

In sharing memories and experiences, what stands out is what we took away from our time at Kilbreda, what we have been able to give back over the years and the friendships that have been retained, renewed and valued. Sharing stories of our current life experiences and families we recognised all grandmothers but two in particular who are grandmother to thirteen wonderful grandchildren, Kathy Findlay (née Simons) and Helen Dunlop (née Nelson).

A highlight of the day was the celebration of a Past Pupil of Distinction Nominee from the Class of 1962, Dr Mauricette Hamilton (née Duffy). Mauri was unable to attend the Past Pupils of Distinction Dinner and with Kay Natale, who nominated her also attending our reunion lunch we were able to  present Mauri as a nominee to those present. Her biography was of interest to us all as we learnt much about Mauri’s achievements previously not known.

Another member of the Class of 1962, Morag Fraser, was also a Past Pupil of Distinction Nominee. Congratulations ladies.

We look forward to meeting again in 2020.
